Silence Is Complicity

Silence Is Complicity
Written by Sharon Mooney

[VERSE ONE]
Their silence masks complicity,
like a hollow, deafening void,
unquestioning lack of courage,
versus roving, curious minds.

[VERSE TWO]
While a tapestry of lies get woven,
occupation's horrors are revealed,
but not everyone is remaining silent,
occupations' crimes gotta yield.

[CHORUS]
T'was never about the hostages!
Israel's Terrorist State
been ethnic cleansing Palestine,
since nineteen forty-eight!
Dedicated to Chess Master Bobby Fischer

Silence Is Complicity: Reverend Dr. Munther Isaac
August 14, 2024 at The Riverside Church

[VERSE ONE]
Silence their Silence!
silence is complicity
in disguise,
their unquestioning lack of courage,
fearing roving, questioning minds.

[VERSE TWO]
They've weaved a tapestry of pain,
as occupation's horrors are revealed,
not everyone of us remains silent,
as crimes against humanity,
are unveiled.

[CHORUS]
T'was never about hostages.
Israel's Terrorist State,
ethnic cleansing, genocide,
displacing families,
since nineteen forty-eight!

[VERSE THREE]
Illegal occupation shielding,
Israel's perpetrators' shame,
while Gazan victims bearing the brunt,
of this rogue Apartheid's
ruthless game.

[VERSE FOUR]
Every citizen's voice should echo,
in tireless protest, unfettered
and bold,
till court of public justice triumphs,
and the story of Palestine gets told.

[CHORUS]
T'was never about hostages.
Israel's Terrorist State,
ethnic cleansing, genocide,
displacing families,
since nineteen forty-eight!

**Silence is Complicity**

In the face of oppression's might,
Silence echoes like a deafening blight.
Palestine's plight, a tragic tale,
Where silence reigns, a cruel and pale.

The walls of silence, they do rise,
Concealing horrors from prying eyes.
A tapestry of suffering and woe,
Unveiled only when truth begins to flow.

The cries of children, lost and alone,
Drowned out by silence, a heartless drone.
Homes shattered, dreams torn apart,
As silence plays its insidious part.

But silence is not just an empty space,
It's a weapon wielded with ruthless grace.
It shields the perpetrators from shame,
While victims bear the brunt of life's game.

For silence is complicity's disguise,
A mask that hides the truth from curious eyes.
It allows injustice to fester and grow,
While the innocent endure endless sorrow.

So let us break the silence, loud and clear,
Demand justice for those who live in fear.
Palestine's cries must not be ignored,
For silence is complicity, a verdict abhorred.

No longer will we turn a blind eye,
To the suffering that we can't deny.
In unity, our voices we shall raise,
Until silence yields to truth's unwavering gaze.

For Palestine's sake, we cannot be still,
Silence is complicity, a truth we must fulfill.
Let our voices echo, strong and bold,
Until justice triumphs, as the story is told.

Unused Lyrics

[VERSE ONE]
Palestine, your chains
must break apart,
Your people's spirit,
a beacon in the dark.

[VERSE TWO]
They march in defiance,
their spirits unyielding,
Protesting the walls
that keep them divided.

[CHORUS]
Raise the flag of Palestine.
Lift your voice for Palestine!
Hold your chin up with courage,
We stand beside you, Palestine.

[VERSE THREE]
The olive branch of peace,
you hold it high,
A symbol of your struggle,
reaching for the sky.

[VERSE FOUR]
Palestine freedom,
a beacon so bright,
A testament to justice,
a victory of light.

[CHORUS]
Raise the flag of Palestine.
Lift your voice for Palestine!
Hold your chin up with courage,
We stand beside you, Palestine.

[VERSE FIVE]
For freedom's sake,
let the world unite,
To end this occupation,
to make things right.

**Ode to Palestine's Freedom**

In lands where ancient olive trees stand tall,
A cry for freedom echoes through the hall.
Palestine, your chains must break apart,
Your people's spirit, a beacon in the dark.

From Gaza's shores to Jenin's hallowed ground,
Your children yearn for peace, their voices sound.
The occupation's grip, a cruel embrace,
Extinguishes their hopes and leaves no trace.

But amidst the strife, a flame still burns bright,
A yearning for liberation, day and night.
The walls they build cannot suppress the truth,
That Palestine deserves its sacred youth.

From Ramallah's streets to Hebron's ancient walls,
Resistance rises, breaking down all thralls.
The Intifada's spirit, unyielding and strong,
Demands justice, righting every wrong.

Oh, Palestine, your freedom we embrace,
A world without your chains, a better place.
May the day come when you can stand alone,
Your people united, their destiny known.

The olive branch of peace, you hold it high,
A symbol of your struggle, reaching for the sky.
May the world hear your plea, both loud and clear,
And grant you freedom, the end of all your fear.

In the annals of history, your name shall be etched,
As the land where liberation was finally fetched.
Palestine, your freedom, a beacon so bright,
A testament to justice, a victory of light.

**Palestine's Cry for Freedom**

In lands where ancient olive trees stand tall,
A nation yearns for freedom's call.
Palestine, a land of olive groves and stone,
Its people's spirits, unbowed and alone.

For decades, they've endured oppression's might,
Their dignity denied, their dreams took flight.
But amidst the darkness, a flame still burns,
A longing for liberation that eternally yearns.

From Gaza's shores to the West Bank's hills,
Their voices rise, determined and shrill.
'Freedom for Palestine!' they cry aloud,
Their hearts aflame, their spirits proud.

They march in unity, hand in hand,
Breaking chains of tyranny, reclaiming their land.
No longer will they be silenced or oppressed,
Their rightful freedom, they must possess.

From Jenin's refugee camp to Bethlehem's star,
Their stories echo, reaching near and far.
They've suffered injustice, endured untold pain,
But their resolve remains, their spirits unchained.

For Palestine, the time has come,
To break the shackles that have held them down.
Let freedom ring from every mountaintop,
And peace descend upon their wounded hearts.

May the world hear their plea, their cries for aid,
And stand in solidarity, lend a helping hand.
For Palestine's liberation, let us strive,
To forge a future where all can thrive.

**Palestine's Cry for Freedom**

Oh, Palestine, land of ancient lore,
Where freedom's flame should forever soar.
But chains of oppression hold you tight,
Silencing your voice, dimming your light.

From Gaza's shores to Hebron's hills,
Your people yearn for justice and thrills.
Occupation's yoke weighs heavy on their soul,
Crushing their dreams, taking their toll.

They march in defiance, their spirits unyielding,
Protesting the walls that keep them divided.
Tear gas and bullets can't quench their fire,
Their determination burns ever higher.

Oh, Palestine, your people's plight,
A stain on humanity, a glaring blight.
International law and justice they demand,
To break the chains that bind them to this land.

Their homes are demolished, their lands are seized,
While the world watches, paralyzed and appeased.
But their resilience shines like a beacon bright,
A testament to their unyielding fight.

For freedom's sake, let the world unite,
To end this occupation, to make things right.
For Palestine's people deserve to be free,
To live in dignity, in harmony.

Let their voices echo through the halls of power,
Until their chains are broken, their fate restored.
Palestine, Palestine, your freedom we'll fight for,
Until justice prevails, until your flag flies high once more.

**Palestine's Plea**

Oh, Palestine, land of ancient lore,
Your people yearn for freedom's shore.
Oppressed and torn, a heavy weight,
Their spirits yearn for a brighter fate.

Your cities echo with cries of pain,
As walls divide and chains remain.
Your children weep, their voices shrill,
'Give us freedom, end this bitter chill.'

Your olive groves, once verdant green,
Now wither under occupation's sheen.
Your waters flow, a salty stream,
A reminder of your stolen dream.

But hope flickers, a flame still bright,
In the hearts of those who fight for right.
With stones and words, they raise their plea,
'Palestine free, set our people free.'

The world must hear their desperate call,
Break the chains that hold them in thrall.
For justice and for human grace,
Let Palestine find its rightful place.

No more oppression, no more strife,
Let freedom reign, revive your life.
Palestine, arise, your spirit strong,
May liberation be your victory song.

**Palestine's Cry for Liberation**

In occupied lands, a tale of woe,
Palestine's people yearn to be free,
Their chains of oppression, a heavy blow,
A struggle for justice, for all to see.

For years they've endured, with unwavering might,
The weight of tyranny, a cruel plight,
Their homes demolished, their rights denied,
A broken land, where dreams are stifled and hide.

But amidst the darkness, a flame still burns,
A longing for freedom, where hope returns,
A chorus of voices, strong and clear,
Demanding liberation, casting off fear.

From Gaza's shores to the West Bank's hills,
Their voices echo, defying all ills,
They march for justice, hand in hand,
United in spirit, across the land.

The world must listen, cannot turn away,
To Palestine's cry, a plea to sway,
To break the chains that bind, set their spirits free,
To grant them the freedom they so righteously see.

In the face of adversity, they stand tall,
Their courage unwavering, their resolve won't fall,
For Palestine's liberation, they will fight,
Until justice prevails, and darkness takes flight.

So let us lend our voices, join their cause,
Support their struggle, with unwavering pause,
For Palestine's freedom, let us raise our hands,
And break the chains that bind, in unity's bands.

'til the world understands why Robert J. Fischer criticised the U.S./British and Russian military industry imperial alliance and their own Israeli Apartheid. Sarah Wilkinson explains:

Bobby Fischer, First Amendment, Freedom of Speech
What a sad story Fischer was,” typed a racist, pro-imperialist colonial troll who supports mega-corporation entities over human rights, police state policies & white supremacy.
To which I replied: “Really? I think he [Bob Fischer] stood up to the broken system of corruption and raised awareness! Whether on the Palestinian/Israel-British-U.S. Imperial Apartheid scam, the Bush wars of ‘7 countries in 5 years,’ illegally, unconstitutionally which constituted mass xenocide or his run in with police brutality in Pasadena, California-- right here in the U.S., police run rampant over the Constitution of the U.S., on oath they swore to uphold, but when Americans don't know the law, and the cops either don't know or worse, “don't care” -- then I think that's pretty darn “sad”. I think Mr. Fischer held out and fought the good fight, steadfast til the day he died, and may he Rest In Peace.

After which the troll posted a string of profanities, confirming there was never any genuine sentiment of “compassion” for Mr. Fischer, rather an intent to inflict further defamatory remarks.

This ongoing work is a tribute to the life and accomplishments of Robert “Bobby” Fischer who passionately loved and studied chess history. May his life continue to inspire many other future generations of chess enthusiasts and kibitzers, alike.
