I was shocked when I discovered the entry in the 1913 Webster's dictionary.
Like the majority of the human population, I doubt you are familiar with 17th and 18th century “British Israelism” ideology… (you may be. You SHOULD be.) I am familiar with it. I was raised in the Herbert W. Armstrong cult/Worldwide Church of God, which had adapted a particular version of the ideology. But others, such as the Ku Klux Klan and Aryan Nations adapted their own version of British Israelism to suit a more violent and extremist racist agenda.
“British Israelism” ideology directly relates to the old “Curse of Ham,” interpretation which was used to give validation to the Trans-Atlantic slave trade.
So I ask you, PLEASE boycott the word. Do not include it in your speeches. If you mean “Anti-Jewish” then say “Anti-Jewish”.
